James Bruckner is an Associate and a Trial Attorney at Chesney & Nicholas
His areas of practice, since his admission to the New York State Bar in 1988, involve all aspects of defense litigation, including counseling and representing insurance companies, private companies and individuals. He is also admitted to the United States Federal Court in the Eastern and Southern Districts. He concentrates his practice in the areas of general negligence, premises liability, construction/labor law, motor vehicle and elevator/escalator litigation obtaining successful verdicts in both State and Federal Court. He also practices in the area of real estate transactions, representing purchasers and sellers of residential and commercial properties.
Before joining Chesney and Nicholas, Jim worked for several Long Island defense firms. He received his Juris Doctor degree from Hofstra University Law School and his Bachelor’s Degree from Stony Brook University.
Jim is community minded and has served as a volunteer firefighter with the Holtsville Fire Department since 2002. He has been elected to and continues to serve on the Holtsville Fire District Board of Fire Commissioners, in charge of the District’s personnel, insurance and legal affairs.
